What is Roxicodone?

  • Roxicodone is an opioid pain medication sometimes called a narcotic.
  • This medicine is used to treat moderate to severe pain. It is also used to manage pain when other treatments like non-opioid pain medicines cannot control the pain or tolerate the alternate treatment.
  • Roxicodone is a teaser as an immediate-release tablet and is present in 5mg, 15mg, and 30mg strength.

Roxicodone contains oxycodone, a controlled substance. Roxicodone exposes the users to the risk of addiction, abuse, and misuse. The risk of addiction in any individual is unknown, and it can occur in any patients appropriately prescribed ROXICODONE.

What to know before taking Roxicodone?

  • Avoid eating grapefruits or the juice of the grapefruits during the use of this medicine until your doctor or pharmacist allows it safely because grapefruits can increase the chances of side effects.
  • Ask your doctor about using this Roxicodone safely with other drugs or not.
  • These drugs make you unsteady. Do not drive any machinery or anything that needs an active mind or alertness. Avoid alcoholic beverages.

How to take Roxicodone?

  1. Take this only by mouth as guidance under your doctor.
  2. Swallow this medication with a whole quantity of water.
  3. Pain medications work best if they are used when the first signs of pain occur
  4. The quantity or dosage of the medicine on your medical conditions to take the advice from your doctor
  5. If you take the concentrated solution, your doctor may tell you to mix the medication needed in a small amount of juice or semi-liquid food like pudding.

Roxicodone Dosage

Each tablet contains 5mg,15mg,30mg of Roxicodone hydrochloride USP.

  • It contains white, odorless crystalline powder derived from the opium alkaloid, thebaine. It dissolves with water (1 g- 7ml) and is considered slightly soluble in alcohol.
  • The 5mg of Roxicodone tablet contains inactive ingredients, and the 15mg and 30 mg of the tablet contain the following microcrystalline cellulose .sodium scratch acid, D & C Yellow.
  • Oxycodone dosage is calculated to manage moderate to severe pain in patients who require an oral opioid analgesic treatment. Who must individually adjust the dose according to the severity of pain patients response and patients if the analgesia is not the inadequate amount or intolerance causes or increase in dosage may be required?
  • Roxicodone should be administered regularly every 4-6 hours at the lowest quantity level to control the patient’s chronic pain to achieve adequate analgesia.

Overdose

  • If anyone gets an overdose and has serious symptoms like breathing, give them anilox if available.
  • Symptoms of the overdose like slow breathing or shallow breathing, slow heartbeat, coma.
  • Take advice from your doctor or the pharmacist if you have the naloxone available to treat opioid overdose. Aware of your family members or household to the symptoms and teach them how to treat with it.
  • Suppose you are taking this medication on a regular schedule and miss a dose. Take the following amount at the usual time. Don’t double the dose to catch up.

What to avoid while using Roxicodone?

  • Please do not drink alcohol during this medication because it causes dangerous side effects or may it cause death.
  • Before taking this medication, always check your brand and strength of Roxicodone.
  • When this medication works on your body, avoid drinking and driving or any machinery that can harm your body. Dizziness or severe drowsiness can create falls or other accidents.

Roxicodone Side Effect

If you have an allergy from this medication, then you have;

  • Swelling of your face, lips,
  • Difficulty breathing,

This medicine can stop your breathing, or it can cause death too.

Call your doctor if you have the following symptoms;

  • A slow heart rate or weak pulse,
  • Confusion, unusual thoughts or behavior,
  • Noisy breathing, shallow breathing,
  • Seizure,
  • High level of serotonin in the body,
  • Low cortisol level

Serious breathing problems are primarily in older people or adults and those debilitated or have a wasting syndrome or chronic breathing problems.

Common side effects;

  • Contraction,stomach pain,vomiting.
  • drowsiness,dizziness,tiredness,headache.

What drug can interact with Roxicodone?

You may have breathing problems or symptoms if you start or stop these medicines. Consult with your doctor if you use any other antibiotic because it causes blood pressure, seizure, medication, or therapy used in treatment in HIV or hepatitis C.

Confirm that your doctor knows this or not:

  • Other opioid-like pain or cough medicine,
  • A sedative like Valium,
  • Medicine for motion sickness, irritable bowel syndrome, or overactive bladder,
  • Drugs that affect serotonin level in your body,
  • Pills that make you sleepy or slow your breathing
